Get Inspired

Passage: Philippians 4:4-9

Preacher: Rev. Daniel Christian

Series: Lectionary

Category: bible, General, Lectionary

Thought for Meditation

I asked an old monk, “How do I get over the habit of judging people?” He answered, “When I was your age, I was wondering where would be the best place to go and pray. Well, I asked Jesus that question. His answer was, ‘why don’t you go into the heart of God?’ So I did. I went into the heart of God, and all these years that’s where I’ve prayed. Now I see everyone as my own child. How can I judge anyone?”----Theophane the Monk,  Tales of a  Magic Monaster

Household Prayer: Morning

God of endings, of packing up decisions, of keeping and leaving, of saying goodbye, the practice of closing and tidying, of moving, the finality of distance between, of newness, the lonely silence of emptiness. Grant me the strength to start over. Amen

Household Prayer: Evening

Generous God, a day of worship, a day of rest, a day in community, a day to be blessed, a day for offering, a day for welcoming, a day for remembering, a day of reckoning- this is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Amen
