Beginning on December 1, we will start a new season: Advent.
During the Season of Advent we look forward to celebrating the first coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We also prepare our hearts to celebrate His birth.
For many, preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus involves buying presents, writing cards, decorating, cooking, and generally stressing out. If these activities actually help your heart to prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, then do them with enthusiasm. However, if they don't nourish your soul, then maybe you could do something else.
I'll be preaching a series of sermons during Advent about we can prepare our hearts for Christmas. For now, let me make one suggestion: sleep 8 hours every night. Especially on Christmas Eve.
God created us to worship Him and serve Him. God also created us to rest in Him. Sweet Dreams.
